HP ZBOOK FIREFLY 15 G8
HP has been known for designing lightweight, powerhouse workstations, and the latest HP ZBook Firefly 15 G8 simply complies with that. This 15.6-inch mobile workstation is another ZBook meant for those who wish to push their mobile workstations to the limits. Whether it is to write documents run graphics-heavy programs or even connect to a 5G network, the ZBook Firefly can do all of it with ease. In terms of its design, the ZBook has an angular, aerodynamic curbside appeal to it. Despite being lightweight, the Firefly G8 is sturdy and has passed several MIL-SPEC tests for drops and spills. As for its overall appearance, this ZBook is lightly coated with a silvery gray hue with a simple yet stylish chrome Z logo on the lid.
The HP ZBOOK Firefly G8 is equipped with the Intel Core i5-1135G7 is a quad-core, mid-range SoC designed to be used in ultra-light laptops. The Tiger Lake-UP3 processor was introduced in September 2020. It features four Willow Cove CPU cores running at 2.4 GHz (base clock speed @ 28 W TDP) Boosting up to 4.2 GHz (1-core Boost). The all-core Boost clock speed sits at 3.8 GHz. This is a Hyper-Threading-enabled CPU, allowing for up to 8 concurrent processing threads.
The screen of the HP ZBook Firefly 15 G8 consists of a 15.6-inch IPS panel and offers a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The maximum brightness of 397 cd/m² on average is slightly above the level of our chosen competition. However, brightness distribution is only moderate at 84%. Furthermore. Above all, this display size is used for subnotebooks, ultra-books, and convertibles. For all three types, this size is quite large. The biggest variety of subnotebooks is represented with this size. Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight, and cheaper.
The ZBook Firefly 15 G8 can almost double its graphics performance with the new 4GB Nvidia QUADRO T500. However, the cooling system reaches its limits under maximum load.
